The Waddell Group
The Waddell Group is a diverse group of professional African American men and women from across the United States. The Group was established with a sole objective, to make a difference through its financial commitment to Fayetteville State University (FSU) and its athletic programs. This commitment led to the creation of the Waddell Group Endowment Fund in April 1996.
The Waddell Group Endowment is an officially recognized endowment within the Fayetteville State University Foundation.
The Waddell Group’s first scholarship was given in the Fall of 1996. Since that time scholarships have been awarded to athletes majoring in Business Economics,
Criminal Justice and Political Science, and English and Literature.
The Waddell Endowment Fund provides financial assistance to male and female student athletes who maintain a GPA of 2.5 or greater, are active in the community, display high moral character and exhibit a passion for athletic competition and good sportsmanship.
The Fayetteville Sate University Athletic Director, in consultation with the coaching staff, selects the student(s) to receive financial assistance from The Waddell Group Endowment Fund.
The Waddell Group meets formally each year at FSU’s Homecoming and the CIAA Basketball Tournament. The membership maintains ongoing communication throughout the year and works closely with University officials to find new ways to enhance FSU’s athletic programs. Additionally, members are available to support scholarship recipients, providing mentoring, moral support and professional guidance.
The Waddell Group invites you to become a contributor to the Endowment Fund. With your assistance, we can strengthen and expand the academic, athletic and personal experiences of young men and women and empower them to successfully meet the challenges of an ever-changing society.
